Procol Harum

Featuring

Procol Harum is a British rock band, formed in Southend-on-Sea, Essex in 1967. The band's origins can be traced back to a local group called The Paramounts, which included future Procol Harum members Gary Brooker and Robin Trower. In 1967, the band released their debut single "A Whiter Shade of Pale" which became an international hit and established them as one of the most important acts of the late 1960s. The band's sound fused classical, jazz, and blues influences with Brooker's soulful vocals and Trower's distinctive guitar solos. Over the years, Procol Harum continued to release successful albums and singles, including "Homburg," "Conquistador," and "A Salty Dog." The band also underwent several lineup changes, with Brooker remaining as the only constant member until his death in Feb 2022. Today, Procol Harum is recognized as one of the defining bands of the classic rock era, and their music continues to influence new generations of musicians.
