September 1939

The start of the Second World War in September 1939 was a pivotal event in world history. In an attempt to expand its territory, Germany invaded Poland. This ignited a series of events that led to Britain and other countries declaring war on Germany. The British armed forces were immediately mobilized to defend their country against German aggression. Meanwhile, Britain's vulnerable groups, including children, were evacuated from cities and moved to the countryside for safety. The Soviet Union also joined the fray and invaded Poland from the east, further contributing to the chaos and violence. The situation was made worse by the Japanese Imperial Army's attack on the Chinese National Revolutionary Army. As a result, war broke out across the globe, with countries taking sides and fighting for their survival. This episode marked the beginning of one of the deadliest conflicts humanity has ever witnessed and changed the course of history forever.
